Trailblazer’s Triumphant Return to Chevy’s Crossover Lineup

You can’t really call it a comeback, because the sporty subcompact Trailblazer seems to take nothing from its predecessor.

Or Does It?

The original TrailBlazer was offered as a premier trim option of the K5 Blazer in 1999. But Chevy saw an opportunity to make the TrailBlazer its very own model from 2001 until its demise in 2008.

On the heels of the Blazer getting a refresh, the Trailblazer reentered the fold. Much like the original, the new Trailblazer takes after its big brother. Its bold, Camaro-esque looks are nearly a spittin’ image of the Blazer, and it follows suit in filling micro gaps in Chevy’s SUV lineup.

Chevrolet sought to fill a gap between the compact Equinox and the full-size Traverse. The midsize Blazer fit in perfectly. Again, just like its big brother, the Trailblazer fills the space in Chevy’s crossover family, fitting in between the subcompact Trax and the compact Equinox.

Splitting Hairs?

Some might think so, but we think it’s ingenious. With the industry shifting away from sedans, it only makes sense to up the options. The Trailblazer is an  option that flawlessly checks a lot of boxes.

For SUV owners who enjoy versatility but want to downsize, the Trailblazer is a small and comfortable solution that doesn’t hold back. For subcompact enthusiasts, it’s an attractive option in a rather dull-looking segment. For sedan lovers who can’t bring themselves to sacrifice at the pump, it delivers impeccable fuel economy at 33 mpg highway.

And the list goes on. The Trailblazer is loaded with options to excite the tech junkies. Plenty of safety features come standard to give peace of mind. There’s innovative storage options to make the most out of its interior space. Plus it’s fun to drive. What more can you ask for?

In true Trailblazer fashion, the revived subcompact crossover followed in the footsteps of the Blazer. Bringing excitement to the segment, the Chevy brand, and to Garber Chevrolet Linwood.
