You Have to See the Bold New Designs of the 2019 Chevy Blazer

Crossovers will soon have a brand-new bar to reach for when it comes to fresh designs, thanks to the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. On hiatus since 2005, this contemporary midsize SUV showcases an exterior rooted in attention-grabbing design with driver-focused technologies inside. The new unibody construction will offer a better driving experience than the old body-on-frame model, but it will still have all the cargo space and legroom you expect from a Chevy SUV.

The new 2019 Blazer offers fashion-forward styling cues and leaves the old square body in the past. This design pioneer offers hot items like LED lighting, stamped fenders, and blacked-out rear roof pillars that make the roof appear to float. The base Blazers will ride on 18-inch wheels, but if you upgrade to the RS model you can choose 21-inch wheels with additional designs. The Premier model will have a tasteful sprinkling of chrome on exterior details while RS models stick to backed-out accents for a more intense look.

“Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado, and Trax,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and head of Global Chevrolet. “The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today.”

Chevrolet introduces the 2019 Blazer Thursday, June 21, 2018 during a special event in Atlanta, Georgia. Slotting between the Equinox and Traverse, the 2019 Blazer features five-passenger seating, standard 2.5L I-4 and available 3.6L V-6 engines with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and model ranges that include sporty RS (pictured here) and up-level Premier models. You won’t have to stay in the right lane with the standard 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder that produces 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. If you’re looking for more power, you can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V-6 that offers 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of which engine you choose, you get direct injection and stop/start technology to help you get better fuel efficiency. Both engine options mate to a nine-speed automatic transmission that’s silky smooth and ready to go.

The interior matches the assertive design cues and spirited engine options with sporty details like padded knee areas, round air vents, and grab handles on the doors. The new Blazer also offers a Chevrolet-first cargo-management system standard on RS and Premier models. It features a rail system and cargo fence to help secure smaller items by dividing the cargo area. When you fold down the second-row seats, you’ll grow the cargo space to a capacious 64.2 cubic feet.

With the 2019 Chevy Blazer, you can bring along your boat or ATVs easily thanks to the host of convenience features specific to towing and hauling. With the V-6 engine, you can opt for the Hitch Guidance that helps you align the SUV’s hitch with the trailer by representing the hitch as a center line in the rearview camera. The Hitch View feature complements the center line by showing a top-down view of the vehicle, making it easier to hitch a trailer without a second person. And with a max trailering capacity of 4,500 pounds with the V-6 engine, you’ll have more than enough muscle to bring your toys.

All this and more will be available on the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer when it goes on sale early next year. Additional details and pricing will come out later this year, but you can test drive the compact Chevrolet Equinox or try the larger Chevy Traverse today. Test drive a  Chevrolet crossover SUV today to discover your new vehicle.
