Earlier this year, Chevy revealed the Trailblazer nameplate would return following a hiatus that began in 2010. Admittedly, the last run of the Trailblazer was not overly impressive in terms of looks or performance, but the official details Chevy recently released on the 2021 Trailblazer show this all-new model will look to change the sentiment surrounding it. Here’s what to expect when the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer arrives at the Garber Chevrolet Linwood showroom, serving Bay City, Standish, and the surrounding areas.
The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer will slot between the subcompact Trax and the compact Equinox and will provide a little added ruggedness these models lack. What will stand out first, though, will be its striking design that will include razor-thin headlights, a bold dual-port grille, scalloped door panels, strong character lines, large and stylish taillights, and a slick rear bumper with satin-chrome inserts and integrated exhaust tips.
Enhancing the Trailblazer’s looks will be its ACTIV trim that adds aggressive 17-inch Hankook Sport Terrain tires, a revised front fascia for improved ground clearance, a two-tone roof, and trapezoidal exhaust tips.
Inside, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer will continue its striking ways with its trapezoidal air vents, sharp lines on the instrument panel, flat-bottom steering wheel, and contrasting dash insert and seat bolsters in the ACTIV trim.
The 2021 Trailblazer will also offer our Midland area crossover shoppers plenty of advanced interior features. These include the ability to connect two phones to the infotainment system via Bluetooth®, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, available SiriusXM® with 360L, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, and more.
This cabin will also boast plenty of space with up to 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded and the ability to haul up to 8.5-foot-long cargo with the passenger’s seat folded flat.
Under its hood, the 2021 Trailblazer will boast a pair of small-displacement, high-output engines for enhanced efficiency without big sacrifices in power. The standard engine will be a 1.2-liter turbocharged unit with 155 horsepower paired with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.
Optionally, buyers can get a 1.3-liter turbo unit, which also boasts 155 horsepower and a standard CVT. Buyers can opt for all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission to the 1.3-liter unit. The optional all-wheel drive will be a selectable unit that’ll allow the driver to activate it when the roads get slick or when heading off the beaten path, or they can deactivate it to save fuel during a normal commute.
Front-driven models will have three selectable driving modes: Normal, Snow, and Sport. Snow mode will apply the throttle progressively to allow smooth, slip-free acceleration in slippery conditions. Sport mode will modify steering effort and shift response for a sportier feel.
The Trailblazer will also provide plenty of advanced safety features to keep everyone inside safe and sound. These standard nannies include forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, a rearview camera, Teen Driver, a rear-seat reminder, and OnStar®. Buyers seeking even more advanced stay-safe equipment can add optional adaptive cruise control, rear park assist, lane-change alert with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a high-definition rearview camera.
